Referee Information

As with each game officiated last season, referees should present a checklist to the coaches of each game officiated.

Coaches who do not receive a checklist from the referee should bring this to the referee's attention.

You should also direct any special praise or serious concern regarding the referee's performance to this address.

"We lost the game because the ref called it out when it was in" would not qualify for a serious concern. However, the following types of situations would qualify:

  • The referee's conduct was less than exemplary (be specific)
  • Apathy (describe)
  • Using cell phone during match
  • Eating lunch during game
  • It is clear to OPPOSING coaches involved in a match that the referee does not have a clear command or knowledge of a law or aspect of the game AND this seriously affected your game (player learning experience, not score).
